About Us

Meet the Pastors

Rev’d Ian Packer commenced with us as interim Lead Pastor (part-time) in 2023, after returning to Western Australia, having spent almost 20 years in Melbourne and Sydney as a pastor, as Director of Public Theology for Australian Evangelical Alliance, Assistant Director of Ethos (the EA Centre for Christianity and Society), and lecturing in theology and ethics at Morling College. As a bi-vocational pastor, his other hours have been working remotely as Exceutive Assistant to the Dean of the Australian College of Theology (ACT). He has just commenced part-time as Dean of Studies and Lecturer with Melbourne School of Theology (an ACT-affiliated college).

Damien (Damo) Bailey started with us part-time in September 2021. He commenced his initial theology training in Victoria in 2002 at Tabor Bible College. After completing his carpentry trade, he worked on his Bachelor of Ministry part-time at Vose Seminary (now Morling College, Vose Campus), completing it in 2016.

When he hasn’t been involved in paid ministry, he’s worked as a trade trainer, and musical equipment specialist.

Damien has a heart for community building, mission, church planting, youth, and young families. His emphasis in ministry is about serving and helping people grow in their awareness of the Kingdom of God.

P.S. We often get asked, “Why is there a brush in the wall?

Well, over twenty years ago, the congregation made the bricks for the church themselves. Howard, the pastor at the time, reportedly dropped the brush in a brick at the end of a long day. They decided to leave it there to remember making the bricks, and it’s now above the door to the church office.
