We want a King
Bible Text: 1 Samuel 8 | Preacher: Mike Lochore | Series: Samuel, Saul & David
Mike explores the implications of Israel’s demand for a king. It was doubly offensive to God because Israel wanted a king so that they could be like everybody else when God had called them to be distinct as His people and their desire for a king to lead them in battle was redundant because God was to be their king and had led them in battle. As God’s people our identity and security is to be in Him and His rule is expressed in the kingship of Jesus.
